Dr. Pierre Vereecken is certified and specialized in dermatology (general, aesthetic, and corrective) as well as Skin Oncology. Dr. Pierre Vereecken created Cliderm (Clinics in Dermatology), an international network of dermatologists, as well as the European Institute for Dermatology Practice and Research, a multifaceted organization that aims to promote Clinical Dermatology and in dermatology research in the European Union.
Since 1991, through his experience, training, and professionalism, he has offered his patients high quality medicine. In both adults and children, he diagnoses and treats diseases of the skin, nails, and scalp, whether they are common (psoriasis, eczema, etc.) or rare.
He also ensures the prevention and detection of skin cancer and provides care for patients with precancerous and cancerous diseases (actinic keratosis, carcinoma, melanoma, Merkel cell tumors, lymphoma, etc.).
After completing his studies in Medicine at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1991, with La Plus Grande Distinction, Dr. Pierre Vereecken became a Medical Officer and worked in Germany for nearly 4 years, as part of the Forces Belges en Allemagne. During this period he acted as a “casque bleu” (peacekeeper) for 6 months in the former Yugoslavia, in particular in Central Bosnia. Upon returning to Belgium, he specialized in Dermatology and Oncology, and pursued various further training in Belgium and abroad, including in France and the United States in Dermatology, Oncology, and Aesthetic and Corrective Dermatology. In 2008, Dr. Pierre Vereecken obtained his PhD, the highest academic rank, with his presentation of research and a dissertation on the topic of melanoma biology.
Head of Academic Services (CHU-Brugmann, Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc), ensuring a triple-layered academic mission, namely clinical, teaching, and research, Dr. Pierre Vereecken has always been attentive to offering his patients high quality medicine.
Dr. Pierre Vereecken is the author or co-author of more than 100 national and international publications, as well as the co-author or editor of several books. A member of numerous national and international scientific societies, for example the Conseil Supérieur de la Santé, the Académie Européenne de Dermatologie, and the EORTC. He also holds many honorary distinctions.
Today, Dr. Pierre Vereecken is completely dedicated to his patients, maintaining scientific rigor, which guarantees the best care. He provides courses and presentations in different graduate schools and for various organizations (professional associations, membership organizations, etc.).
